Altering an historic existing building into a dwelling or extending the living capabilities of an already established house is a real skill.

Here at NEST we see both Alterations and Extensions as exciting and challenging projects. We have achieved both by reflecting and maintaining the structures period or juxtapositioning the modern alongside the original features and story of the building.

We are currently converting a large Methodist Church dating back to 1816 into a beautiful modern home. The vast open inside space gives us the freedom to offer sleek living whilst still retaining the fabric of the structure and the beauty of the external Church. The blank canvas of the interior has enabled the project to incorporate renewable energy heating systems as it is feasible to fully insulate the building to modern standards.

We are very sympathetic and aware of how buildings play a huge role in the appearance to local communities and the history they have by their presence but also appreciate that they need to be suitable for modern living requirements.
