This involved sympathetic restoration of the existing fabric of the Grade 1 Listed town house on one of the most prestigious streets in England whilst breathing new life in to an unloved and tired example of Georgian architectural history. Working in tandem with HBA we were able to carry out the re-fenestration of the whole front facade with Georgian windows along with replacing the modern joinery at the rear. A beautiful quarter sawn oak floor was uncovered on the ground floor and fully restored to its former glory along with ornate marble fireplaces and Georgian timber paneling amongst others. This house now boasts many of the original features alongside exquisite modern twists creating a timeless but original masterpiece.
The initial external work to this building included top to bottom stone cleaning and repair work over the whole elevation as well as some bottle replacements and balustrade repairs. It soon became apparent the somewhat neglected building had been suffering from water ingress for some time which meant that lead roofs and the entire rear terrace had to be replaced and made to function correctly to protect the fabric of the building.
Once the majority of the external and internal work had been completed on the building we oversaw the re-landscaping of the rear garden. A three levelled formal garden and terrace were created with an exceptional lighting system highlighting the various planting areas.
Carrying out a full renovation on a property of this type and size brings many exciting challenges all of which were overcome with our team of skilled tradesmen culminating in a stunning house which is probably the finest example on this iconic street.
