Between 2017 and 2018 we carried out several phases of work at a large estate in Gloucestershire.

Phase one was to construct a potting shed and plant room, to service the walled gardens heated glasshouse. Planning conditions required that it had to be partially subterranean and built in a narrow slip of land between the access road and garden wall. Locally sourced stone was hand axed to match the existing walling stone with a Welsh slate roof and bespoke Douglas fir, potting benches and drawers finishing the interior.

Phase 2 was the wall Gardens glass house. The existing stonewalls in the shape of cruciform were repaired and altered to work with the new glass house design to incorporate a new bath stone gable including a stunning green stone open fireplace. Along with the project architect, we worked closely with the the glass house manufacturer to ensure high, seamless, handover and installation of the element of the works.

Phase 3 was the re-roofing of the Central part of main house, along with re-lining nine chimneys. The roof was surrounded by castellated stonework so great care had to be taken to ensure the correct falls for the enclosed lead valleys. Previous work had been poorly undertaken, resulting in substantial rafter repairs and replacement of rotten timbers
