In 2017 we undertook the conversion of a semi derelict former slaughterhouse into a snug/guest annexe.

The building had in more recent times been used for staff accommodation but was suffering from significant damp issues due to external cement pointing and gypsum plaster on the internal walls. We carefully stripped the building back to its bare bones to alleviate the damp problems and create a single open living space. After addressing a few structural issues we modernised the dated bathroom and installed glazed steel door and windows then added underfloor heating and lime plastered the walls to allow the building to breathe.

With the addition of external landscaping and a large patio area the clients have a perfect entertaining area in the summer and a cosy escape to relax and unwind which also works as a guest annexe whilst retaining the overall appearance of the building and surrounding estate.
